EU allows to blacklist relatives of Russian businesspeople
BRUSSELS, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- The Council of the E.U. has amended the document regulating sanctions against Russia over Ukraine by adding the possibility of blacklisting relatives of businesspeople, according to the document seen by PRIME on Tuesday.
Under the new stipulation, close relatives and other beneficiaries of business activities of influential entrepreneurs operating in Russia qualified as responsible for the support of actions against Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence, may be subject to sanctions.
The E.U. blacklisted several relatives of Russian politicians and businesspeople earlier, but the Court of Justice of the E.U. ruled that the Council of the E.U. should cancel the decisions.
